USGA Media Center – Press Releases

LIBERTY CORNER, N.J., (Sept. 24, 2024) – The United States Golf Association (USGA) has made the announcement that Erin Hills, located in Erin, Wisconsin, recognized as one of the top daily-fee golf courses in the nation, is set to host a series of five USGA amateur championships over the upcoming 15-year period. This lineup includes the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open Presented by Ally, scheduled for May 28-June 1. The newly confirmed championships feature:

  • 2027 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball
  • 2030 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball
  • 2033 U.S. Women’s Amateur
  • 2039 U.S. Junior Amateur

“Erin Hills has established itself as an outstanding venue for USGA championships, and we are excited to bring these five events to this esteemed course,” mentioned Mark Hill, managing director of Championships. “The stunning landscape and the challenging design of Erin Hills provide an excellent platform for golfers to display their skills and commitment.”

Erin Hills is among a selection of 13 other courses that have previously hosted or will host prestigious events such as the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Amateur, and U.S. Women’s Amateur. The course was notable for being the site of Wisconsin’s inaugural U.S. Open in 2017, where Brooks Koepka claimed his first of back-to-back victories. It also hosted the 2011 U.S. Amateur, where Kelly Kraft triumphed over Patrick Cantlay with a score of 2 up in the final.

“We are thrilled to extend our collaboration with the USGA by hosting these five championships,” stated Andy Ziegler, owner of Erin Hills. “We firmly believe in fostering and celebrating amateur golf, and these championships align perfectly with that vision.”

The upcoming U.S. Women’s Open next May will mark the fifth USGA event held at Erin Hills. The venue previously hosted the 2008 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links, where Tiffany Joh secured her second title with a 2-and-1 victory against Jennifer Song. Last September, Matthew McClean captured victory in the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, winning in an all-Irish final against Hugh Foley.

Located about 35 miles northwest of Milwaukee in the Kettle Moraine region, Erin Hills was crafted by the design trio of Dr. Michael Hurdzan, Dana Fry, and Ron Whitten. The public course opened for players in 2006.

Up to this point, Wisconsin has hosted a total of 17 USGA championships through the end of the 2024 season. The upcoming events will be the first instance of the USGA’s Four-Ball Championships, introduced in 2015, being held in Wisconsin, marking also the debut of the U.S. Women’s Amateur in this state.
